Ecobee 2 wire installation.
The wiring is weird. One of the thermostat wire goes into the valve. The other wire is going into a transformer. The valve has a second wire going to the same transformer. Each valve also have 2 red wires, going nowhere. Just not connected. I have plugged the ecobee using the valve wire going to RC and the transformer wire going to C and W1.

The master-slave just means zone 1 controls the mode your system is in (heat or cool). So if it's too cold in zone 2 and hot in zone 1, zone 2 cannot call for heat while the first zone is using cooling.
